The Behavioral Health Therapist will be accountable for upholding the mission for mental health care in our organization, maintaining a positive culture and embodying the values of HealthWorks. Consistent communication and collaboration when appropriate is a must to employ integrated healthcare within the primary care medical home setting and mental health service line. A team centric approach with a solutions-based mindset is a priority. This individual is responsible for coordination of mental health and substance abuse treatment to support a healthy environment and healthy behaviors for our child, adolescent and adult patients.

1. At the current level of organizational accreditation and therapist’s licensure, provides direct clinical services to mental health clients, including intake screening and assessment, diagnosing, care coordination, programmatic education, and therapeutic treatment for substance abuse, individual, couples, family and group therapy using Evidence Based Practices following professional ethics board standards.
2. Works with medical providers to support patients with Medication Assisted Therapy.
3. Completes clinical questionnaires and/or forms as required for clinical protocol and insurance companies or other third-party resources.
4. Provides clinical and/or indirect services to referral sources, i.e., schools, law enforcement, social services, etc., as requested and approved. Follows our Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) site guidelines for location of care delivery.
5. Participates in appropriate professional development opportunities both through HealthWorks’ opportunities and external sources.
6. Participates in scheduled staff/team meetings, care review/coordination and quality assurance activities.
7. Scores and reviews psychological questionnaires as needed.
8. Counsels patients to assist in treatment of dependencies, life adjustments and making or accepting changes.
9. Collaborate with other mental health service providers if needed for higher level of care needs and care coordination.
10. Maintains standard of expected minimum direct service productivity and therapeutic responsibility for the collection of fees.
11. Provides follow-up and after-care planning services as clinically appropriate.


Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or related field required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, ability to function independently and as a team member; proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer; ability to assess, evaluate, explain, teach, problem-solve and perform calculations; willing to accept feedback and suggestions.

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience in providing mental health and substance abuse therapeutic counseling. Three or more years of experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications: Current unencumbered license with the Wyoming Mental Health Professions Licensing Board.
