California PRN Locums ICU/Critical Care
Specialty: Critical Care
Start Date: as soon as privs are issued
Contract Length: 3 months, ongoing
Shift Details: Nights, 6p-6a
Schedule: PRN 1-3 nights per month
Work Details:
· Support Staff: Backup support from academic intensivist and academic pulmonary critical care fellows. Procedural backup from ER..
· Patients per day: 12 bed unit- not always at capacity. Provider would be responsible for all patients in unit while on night shift.
· Patient Population/Age: Variable, but no Peds or OB patients
· Department Description: ICU app will cover night shift at a mixed med/surg 12 bed ICU. APP will be responsible to see all new admissions to the ICU, round on and manage current ICU patients and perform critical care procedures. Respond and assist with code blue management. Intensivists and fellows will be available by phone to assist with management, but APP will be a solo provider on night shift and should be comfortable to work autonomously.
· EMR: EPIC
· Hospital Bed size: 12 beds in ICU
· Special Procedures: Must have experience with central line and arterial line. Intubation experience strongly preferred.
· Skills Required: Vent management, lines, codes, comfortable working independently.

Requirements:
· Board Certification: Required
· License Required: Active CA license
· Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS
· Minimum Experience Required: 2 years of APP ICU experience. we are ideally looking for folks who are working in medical critical care managing ICU patients and I would be open to considering someone working in a CVICU or SICU as long as they have had prior MICU experience.
Credentialing Timeframe: Up to 90 days.
