Facility in Altoona, PA seeking PA-c Emergency Medicine Night Shift locums coverage Rates: $130/hr Opportunity Highlights Consistent Night Schedule: We are looking for coverage for 4-6 shifts per month, primarily during the 7 PM - 7 AM night shift. Occasional day and mid-day shifts (7 AM - 7 PM, 9 AM - 9 PM) may also be needed. Collaborative Environment: Work as part of a team; you will not work solo. A physician is always present at night, and there is a wide range of specialty support available on-site or on-call, including a 24/7 trauma service and crisis counselors. Diverse Caseload: See a wide variety of emergency department patients with a focus on lower-acuity cases. While you will be expected to see all patient complaints, the attending physician will handle the critically ill patients. EMR System: Utilize Cerner for charting. Required Training: You will be required to keep your NIHSS and Stroke CME current annually. EMTALA education is also mandatory. Privileging: Estimated 90 days for full privileges. Responsibilities Manage a variety of ED patients, with a typical volume of 1-2 patients per hour per provider. Perform minor procedures such as I&Ds and laceration repairs. Conduct some administrative tasks, including reviewing radiology and blood work when needed. Work collaboratively with the physician and other staff to provide efficient and high-quality patient care. This role is for PAs only; NPs will not be considered. Provider Requirements Credential: Physician Assistant (PA). Board Status: Board Certified. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience. Licensure: An active Pennsylvania State License is required to apply. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications are required and must be through the AHA or Red Cross. You must also be Stroke Certified. Start Date Estimated start date: November 3, 2025.
