Job description
Position: Gastroenterologist Hospitalist (Locum Tenens)
Location: West Virginia
Start Date: As soon as credentialed – Target: 04/21/2025
Contract Length: 120 days – 6 months (potential to extend)
Shift Schedule: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM | 7on/7off rotation
Credentialing Timeframe: ~60 days (emergency licensing available for qualified candidates)
Licensing: WV license required – client willing to license if provider qualifies for WV temporary license
Job Details:
Practice Setting: Inpatient GI hospitalist
Support Staff:
APPs available during weekday hours
3-person coverage team on weekends
Patient Volume: 20–25 patients per day
Patient Population: Adults, 18+
Procedures Required:
General GI
Colonoscopies
EGDs
EMR: Cerner
Hospital Type: Large regional system, multi-hospital network
Requirements:
Board Certification in Gastroenterology (required)
Active DEA, BLS, and ACLS (required)
Active WV license or willingness to obtain (temporary licensing supported)
Minimum experience preferred: Ability to handle inpatient volume and general GI procedures independently
