Locum Tenens Opportunity – Home Health / Internal Medicine (NP)

Specialty: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult NP
Location: Greensboro & Burlington, NC (covering surrounding 5 counties)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Length: 12 weeks, potential for extension
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours per week)

Position Details:

Full-time coverage needed (1 FTE).

Combination of home visits (approx. 6 per day, 45 min each) and telehealth visits (approx. 8 per day).

Equipment provided for telehealth.

Patients are primarily geriatric (mix of new and existing patients).

Responsibilities include physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, chronic disease management, advanced care planning, and patient education.

Must manage complex patients, many with up to 10 comorbidities.

Scheduler confirms daily routes; travel required across multiple counties.

EMR: Athena (prior experience preferred; training modules required before start).

Requirements:

Board Certification: FNP or Adult NP

License: Active NC license required

DEA: Active NC DEA required

Certifications: Current BLS (AHA or ARC) required

Other: Valid driver’s license, own transportation, automobile liability insurance

Experience: Minimum 2–3 years in acute care, home health, long-term care, or outpatient/office setting. Palliative care experience preferred.
