Coverage Type: Call Coverage (no clinic), Rounding on referred patients + holding pager with 30 min response time
Schedule: Likely to be mostly weekend coverage, potential flexibility with their other provider who covers call but primarily works at USC. Please submit specific cadence of availability so we’re able to show options.
Work Details:
• Call + rounding on referred patients and surgery if needed. Per client “The core privileges for urology are listed below but since they include robotics and aquablation (more often scheduled as elective vs emergent), the main skill set is our need.”
• Patients per shift: 3-5
• Department description: Trauma Level 2 Facility
• EMR: Meditech
• Skills required: See below for core privs list from client. General Urology with periodical trauma coverage, they have a Trauma Surgeon in-house at all times but want candidates to be able to handle trauma/emergency surgery in worst case scenario that it’s needed.

:Core Privileges in Urology (from client)
Admit to inpatient or appropriate level of care
Evaluate, diagnose, consult and provide care to patients presenting with congenital and acquired medical and surgical disorders of the genitourinary system and its contiguous structures
Perform history and physical examination
Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy (ESWL)
Nephrectomy, open renal biopsy, excision or marsupialization of renal cyst
Open nephrotomy, nephrolithotomy, nephrostomy, pyelolithotomy, pyelostomy, pyeloplasty, exploration and drainage of perinephric abscess, renorrhaphy
Percutaneous endopyelotomy
Percutaneous nephrostomy and nephroscopy including stone manipulation, biopsy and excision
Percutaneous renal biopsy and aspiration
Ureteroscopy; flexible and rigid - including stone manipulation, biopsy and excision
Ureteral anastomosis to pelvis, calyx, ureter, small or large bowel or bladder
Surgery of the ureter including ureterotomy, ureterostomy, ureterolithotomy, ureterectomy, ureteroplasty, ureterolysis and stent placement/removal
Artificial urinary sphincter replacement at bladd
