Job description

Sumo Medical Staffing is recruiting for an experienced Urology/Physician to work locum shifts in Eureka, California (CA). Starting Summer 2025, work with a competitive market rate and benefits.

The Urology Role:
• 175 beds
• Trauma level III
• Scheduled clinical hours + call
• Office/clinic outpatient
• Mix: 98% adult, 2% PEDS (not required to see PEDS)
• 6 total rooms: 3 exam, 3 procedure
• Average daily patients: 16+
• Hospital-based surgeries: 3-6, may vary
• EMR: Office/Clinic - Allscripts, Hospital - Meditech
Cases:
• General adult procedures: ENDO, laparoscopic, Percutaneous Neph, ureteroscopy, radical cystectomy & prostatectomy, nephrectomy, renal & bladder, TRUS, fertility, incontinence
Equipment:
• GOBY Urodynamics System
• Olympus flexible scopes
• Rigid scopes
• Rectal US for TRUS biopsy and fiduciary marker placement
• Medivator sterilization system
• All power exam procedure tables
Required:
• CA state license; active, unrestricted
• Board certified in Urology; welcomes board eligible (2-5 years post training)
• DEA, BLS, FLURO (attach a copy with bid)
• Credentialing average: 45 days
Compensation:
• Competitive market rate (based on availability, experience, certifications, housing, and transportation needs, etc.)
• Malpractice insurance provided


Schedule:
• Seeking only ONE physician – start date ASAP
• Availability needs: 1-2 weeks (7-14 days) per month
• Office/Clinic: (either Mon-Thurs or) Tues-Fri; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (days/times may vary)
• Call schedule: 7-10 days per month including weekends (dates will vary)
• Hospital-based surgery days: Mon & Thurs; 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (days/times may vary)


Scenario: If taking call during a clinic week, shifts will be regular hours during the day (M-F) and night call each weekday night. Then 24-hour hotel call on weekends.
